Are you ready to start working with us on manifesting the life you want? Then click below to schedule a free 30-minute Shine Session (consultation)!

Client Portal

Finding a therapist is a process and not everyone will be a good fit. Our philosophy is simple: “the therapeutic relationship is crucial in therapy.” A therapeutic relationship is quite unique and it can take a bit of effort in finding someone you trust. This is why we offer a free 30-minute shine session (consultation) to talk about what you want to manifest in therapy and whether our practice is the right fit for you.

We confess we are not your “traditional” therapists and our work is rooted in social justice. Our goal is to be authentic with you and in return, we expect the same. Liz & I may not be the fit for everyone and that is ok, our only desire is that you get the support you need. Feel free to bring any questions you may have to the consultation!

*If you are interested in a 30-minute shine session (phone consultation) click on “Client Portal” and select “I’m a New Client” then follow the steps.

We specialize in working with the Latinx community, LGBTQ+ community, and BIPOC folx. We provide therapy in both English and Spanish.

Our approach is simple: create a space that allows for manifesting, healing, and growth. Through various perspectives, philosophies, social justice, and theoretical orientations we provide individuals with the tools they need to embrace themselves unapologetically and radically.

*Currently, we are only providing teletherapy services in California.

Therapy is not the only tool for healing and growth. In fact cultures around the world have been practicing ways to provide healing for hundreds of years. Therapy, as it is today, was developed by primarily western ideologies that mostly focused on White people. However, therapy has evolved and continues to develop through a different lens.

As Latinx therapists, our goal is to redefine the way we talk about mental health and the impact that external factors play in our day to day. After all, as BIPOC folx we experience the world in a very different way. Not only do we face discrimination, but we are also constantly battling and learning to survive in systems that are not designed to support our unique needs.

Teletherapy in California

Teletherapy has many benefits including flexibility, easy access, and no travel!

Seeking professional mental health services does n Seeking professional mental health services does not mean you’re weak or crazy. It means that you want to invest in your emotional well-being. Let’s be that generation that flips that narrative. Where showing vulnerability is a sign of strength because it is!

I always encourage people to look around when seek I always encourage people to look around when seeking a mental health professional. Therapy is an intimate experience where you will be sharing your vulnerabilities and not every therapist will be a good fit. And to be honest, not all therapists are good ones either.

**Wait for it**

I once went to a couple’s therapist and she made
an insensitive remark about “my commitment to
being on time.” Even after I told her that I’m Mexican and my sense of time was different than my boyfriend. And when I told her that I was part of a circle of women who meet on the full moon to have ceremony, she responded, “are you part of a cult?” Needless to say we didn’t go back to her. It’s okay to stop going to therapy because you didn’t have a good experience. However, that doesn’t mean that all therapists or therapy will suck. It’s about finding a good fit for you.

Today is #NationalComingOutDay! 🏳️‍🌈

When it comes to creating a safe and supportive space for someone who's coming out, we all have a role to play. Here are some tips for being a supportive ally and creating a safe space for your loved one, today and every day:

💬 Use the person's chosen name and pronouns
📣 Speak up when others make negative comments about LGBTQ folks
❤️ Tell you LGBTQ person that you love them
🌈 Educate yourself on LGBTQ history, narratives, and issues
📚 Refer folks to these suicide prevention resources

If you're already out or thinking of coming out, know that we are here for you. This is a personal journey – do it on your timeline, when you're comfortable.

La Luna is revered in many traditions. She is also connected to the feminine and therefore when you approach her it’s in your best interest to do so with respect, because she gives us our fortune and misfortune.

At PsychoSocial, we always say that we’re a pers At PsychoSocial, we always say that we’re a person first, than a therapist. To me this means that we’re allowed to show up authentically as who we are. Because the therapy that we were taught in grad school originated from old white men, with the belief that therapists are blank slates and you should never share anything about yourself. This is part of what it means to decolonize therapy for me. And to incorporate traditional healing practices too. Do you agree or disagree?
